The Eye Doctor

Coraline had her appointment at the eye doctor today. Back when she was around two months old, we took her to the eye doctor to check to see if the hemangiomas near her left eye would affect her vision at all. The doctor wasn't too concerned about them then, but wanted to double-check later on to make sure they hadn't grown any. So today we had her eye rechecked, and everything went well. The doctor asked us to take her back when she's three years old, but their appointment calendar did not go that far into the future.

Thank you so much for the adorable snapfish book. I really wish I could squeeze one of those babies in person! Maybe we can work something out soon. I am a really good babysitter......

I didn't know Cora had hemangiomas. My son, Luke, has one on his nose and we have been very worried about how its size has affected the way his nose has swollen and been distorted. How scary that Cora has them near her eye! So glad that they do not seem to have grown. :)

Yeah, they help to tell her apart from her identical sister :) She has a large one on her belly that is starting to fade, a half-dime sized one on her shoulder, some random tiny spots across her chest and back, and then a tiny one on her upper and lower lid, and a slightly larger one on her forehead. The doctor said the ones on her head weren't a problem, and were actually "cute" :)
