Arthur's Frog and Bird

Last night we told Arthur he had a frog in his throat as a result of his cold. He then went around saying "Ribbit! Ribbit!" Today he woke up and told us that he had another animal living in his head - a bird!

Last Day with our Cousins

We'll miss playing with our cousins, but we know that we'll see them again in a few weeks to celebrate Christmas with them!

Fun with Relatives

We've had a great Thanksgiving break, and the triplets have had fun playing with their cousins, helping Uncle Tristan cook pancakes, and horsing around with Aunt Allison!

Arthur, Librarian

The kids were involved in this project for almost half an hour. The girls would bring books, one at a time, to Arthur, who would stamp them (using a Santa pez dispenser we found). The girls would then take the cancelled books to various parts of the house, arranging them in stacks. While it looks like he's a studious librarian, it took me a few minutes to realize that he's never seen a librarian do this (everything is digitally scanned these days). In actuality, Arthur is playing postman, and canceling imaginary stamps.

Stringing Beads

A new project the triplets love playing with is stringing long necklaces of beads.

Coraline, Cook

Since we're having two turkeys in the oven this Thanksgiving, Nana has started early making pies and banana bread. The kids area always willing to help, and they've gotten much better at holding the mixing bowl with one hand, and mixing with the other!

Betty, Handyman

In anticipation of guests coming for Thanksgiving, Betty has taken it upon herself to do some last minute repairs around the house.

Fun in DC

After the family reunion, we took the kids out to look at the mall, along with Aunt Allison and Uncle Matt. While a few of the kids napped, we toured the Library of Congress, and Betty had fun looking at the ducks in the duck pond. Then we met up with their cousins and Aunt Heather, and toured the Air and Space Museum. Betty kept exclaiming, "Amazing! Amazing!"

Afterwards, we took the kids on their first carousel, which they all enjoyed. Then it was home again by train (which they all did well on).

DC Family Reunion

Today we took everyone to a family reunion in Washington, D.C. The kids were excited to finally meet Great Grandma Betty (our Betty's namesake), as well as some of their great aunts and uncles.

The Spitting Contest

And in other news, Arthur finally got in one of his 2nd molars (bottom left). Only three more to go!

All Fall Down

The kids were a bit wild today. This first video is a typical clip of them going crazy, in one of their loud raucous dances. Later, Pop Pop returned from his trip to Florida, and Betty was quite excited to see him again...

Bye-Bye

Unfortunately I missed the majority of the girls' interaction tonight. But Coraline and Betty took turns at the dining room table telling each other, "Bye Bye! I'll miss you! See you soon! I love you!"

Coraline's Chicken

Coraline asked me to make her a chicken (using the playdoh she made yesterday). I added for eyes a few yellow be-bes (that she always collects on walks).

Pie-Making

Yesterday I got out the frozen pie crust, and Arthur was excited until he looked at the box. "I don't like cranberry sauce pie!" he declared. I told him the picture was actually cherries, and we're going to be making pumpkin pie.

Morning Activities

Every morning the kids get involved in various activities. The girls often go off together to read. Recently they've been playing ball, but the game often gets interrupted when the ball gets stolen.

In other news, we saw last night that Coraline finally got in her last molar (top right).

Talking with Cousin Adam

Recently, Arthur has been asking to talk to whoever is on the phone. Today he had a nice chat with his cousin Adam. At the end of the call though, Adam told him "Bye-bye Arthur, Bye-bye," to which Arthur replied, "Bye-bye Arthur." We're still working on it.

Cooking with Mommy

Betty and Arthur took turns cooking with Erin today, and each were very patient waiting for their turn at mixing.

Leaf Gathering

Every day the kids help out Nana with raking the leaves, and carrying them up to the curb. And when the tarp isn't being used for leaf collection, it makes a great tent!

Walking Sophie

I just found this video that Uncle Eric took during his visit of Coraline walking Sophie.
