Back-To-School

Today we took the kids to their preschool for a back-to-school event. They were a bit confused that we were staying with them, and not dropping them off (their first full half-day is tomorrow), but in the end had a lot of fun. It was great for them to meet some new friends, see their old friends, and find out who is going to be in their M-W-F classroom.

Robot Dance

Betty found a box in the garage, and showed up claiming she was a robot. She proceeded to dance around the room singing, "I'm a robot dancing!" We have no idea where this came from.

Gobblerfest

We took the family to Gobblerfest today, a sort of welcome-back party on the Virginia Tech campus. Everyone was especially excited to see a giant Hokie bird.

And then the kids loved (crazy) dancing to the live music.

Cora's Name

Coraline wrote her own name yesterday. While she had to ask Erin which letters to draw, Cora managed to get all four letters written at the top of her paper. I've been trying to do this with Arthur, but he thinks an "A" is good enough, and has no interest in any of the other letters.

Heritage Day

We took the kids to our local museum for their Heritage Day festival. They enjoyed talking with a man collected honey from bees, and meeting a woman who made artwork out of clay. Each of the kids got their own ball of clay to work with, and soon made a small nest with clay egg in it.

Betty's Castle

Betty worked all day building a tall castle on top of the bucket we use for blocks. Amazingly, it never fell over.

Three-Year Checkup

Today we took the kids to their three-year checkup. Arthur weighed 30 lbs (25th percentile), and was 37.25" tall (50th percentile). His vision was 20/30, and his hearing was normal.

Betty weighed 32.5 lbs (70th percentile), and was 38" tall (75th percentile). Her vision was 20/30, and her hearing was normal.

Coraline weighed 30 lbs (50th percentile), and was 37.25" tall (60th percentile) - the exact height and weight as Arthur! Her vision was 20/40, and her hearing was normal. Afterwards, everybody had to get a shot.

Sorting Colors

Betty is great at sorting colors. Next up we're going to try sorting colors and shapes.

Tree Climbers

Sleeping Beauty

Coraline has been pretending to sleep recently (unrelated to the head wound she received last week!). She'll lay down somewhere, close her eyes, and stay in that position for at least ten minutes. She even ignores us when we call or poke her. It's amazing how committed she is!

Birthday Bump

To celebrate the triplets' official birthday, Coraline decided to take a tumble from the top of the stairs, all the way to the bottom. Luckily she didn't break anything, and she was great in letting us quickly assess the damage and treat her large bump.

Gone Fishing

We took the kids to the duck pond to try out their new fishing poles. The catfish seemed to like the hotdog bait we were using, and soon all the kids managed to land some small fish.
