Grandparents Visit

Grandma Toni and Grandpa Carter came for a visit. They were our first guests in our "new" home. Sadly though, the weather is still rainy, so we won't be able to visit the fair with them.

Happy Fourth of July!

Today we celebrated the Fourth of July by taking the family to Smithfield Plantation. While Nana and Pop Pop had a tour of the 1775 home, we enjoyed a picnic on their front lawn.

The kids loved exploring the grass yard, and Arthur thought he made quite the dapper gentleman.

Moving Day!

Today we officially moved back into our house. The triplets had been living at Nana and Pop Pop's house for almost all of their 11 months. Plus, Erin and I had been there for the last few months of Erin's pregnancy (the house has central air and a big tv). So we figured it was finally time to try it out on our own.

So after a month full of painting, cleaning, cat-hair removing, sorting, organizing, and baby-proofing, the house is finally ready for us. It's odd to be back in our home after being away for so long (and the 2007 calendar on the wall reminds us how quickly these past 11 months have gone). But the kids all seem to love the place, and we managed to squeeze them into the nursery for bedtime. For once we are sleeping without a crib in our bedroom!

Coraline's New Tooth

While Nana got up at the crack of dawn to drive Great Aunt Lois to the airport, Coraline was busy growing a 6th tooth. Or it might have been earlier. Cora is following the exact teething schedule her sister followed, and as it had been with Betty, we were busy watching her upper gums where a large blood blister was preventing a new tooth from appearing. Distracted, we again missed the new tooth Cora got in her bottom row, as we had earlier done with Betty.

Speaking of Betty, she has started consistently walking 4-5 steps at a time between destinations. We're still on schedule for having a few walkers by their birthday :)

Tooth count: A-2, B-8, C-6

A Slow Saturday

Nana and Great Aunt Lois headed down to Tennessee to drop off Nu and Min Joo, so we had a lazy day at home watching the triplets with Pop Pop. After finally getting my book in the mail, we took the kids on an outing to return a large stack of research books the the library. Erin spent time making a cake for Nana's birthday tomorrow.

Go Fish!

This is the new game that the triplets think is hilarious. It involves Erin taking one of a number of foam rubber fish (from a bath time storybook) and shooting them across the room with her mouth. It sort of reminds me of the Muppet character Lew Zealand who also threw fish. Sadly Erin's didn't boomerang back on their own...

Blueberrying

We took the triplets blueberry picking today. It was quite hot, but we made sure everyone was covered in sunscreen, and that we had lots of water with us.

This was the first time the kids had had blueberries, and they all seemed to love it. (we broke them in half for them to eat) I personally got a stomach ache from eating too many...

In other news, we caught Coraline taking 5 steps today. Somehow, none of us could remember when she transitioned from taking single steps, to taking multiple ones...
