A Winter Storm!

Preschool

Arthur, Betty, and Coraline still have trouble adjusting to preschool, especially since winter weather has cancelled half of the days they were supposed to be at school. Without any semblance of routine, they still are quite upset when we leave them in the morning. However, their teachers tell us that they calm down after a bit, and by lunchtime, it is sometimes difficult to convince them to go home.

Everyone loves the hugging game! When the kids start, they race around in a circle, after each other - no one wants to be stuck in the front without someone to hug. They they hold on tight, walk around the room, before pulling everyone together onto the ground in a giant heap. And then it starts all over again.

This was about the 6th time the kids went through their numbers, but by this time Arthur had forgotten about the number eight. Oh, and yes, the numbers after twelve are fourteen, fourteen, and fourteen.

Warming Up

The snow has finally started to melt, and we all went outside for a nice walk, and an opportunity to play in the mud puddles. Everyone, that is, except Betty who refused to put on boots.

Aunt Allison came today to celebrate an early birthday with us. The kids of course were eager for any opportunity to eat cake!

Fun in the Snow

It has finally warmed up enough for the kids to go outside again and play in the snow (which has been on the ground since before Christmas). The girls took the opportunity to find a clean patch of snow to snack on.

Project Linus

I had the whole family volunteer to make baby blankets for Project Linus, as part of Disney's "Give a Day. Get a Day." program. So shortly we'll all have tickets to Disney World for a vacation this summer!

First Day of School

The kids started their first day of preschool today! They'll be going half-days, twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays).

New Year's Day

Grandma Toni and Grandpa Carter came to celebrate New Year's with us. The kids enjoyed reading books with Grandpa Carter, and loved the new chair that they brought. And for the first time, we all had dinner together as a family in the dining room.
